Kill La Kill

LOS ANGELES- Anime Expo 2014 headlined with an event that showcased the special guest of the recently big anime hit KILL LA KILL!

Kill la Kill is an anime television series produced by Trigger.  It follows vagrant schoolgirl Ryuko Matoi on her search for her father's killer, which brings her into violent conflict with the iron-fisted student council president of Honnouji Academy, Satsuki Kiryui.

In one night, the event featured a talk session with all the Kill La Kill guest; Scriptwriter Kazuki Nakashima, Character Designer and Chief Animation Director SUSHIO, Ryuko Matoi’s voice actress (Seiyuu) Ami Koshimizu, Satsuki Kiryuin’s voice actress (Seiyuu) Ryoka Yuzuki, Producer Yousuke Toba. 

The talk session gave the audience a chance to learn about the creative process of the anime show.  Ami Koshimizu and Ryoka Yuzuki showed off their voice talents by getting everyone excited by reading actual dialogue from the show.  There was also an exclusive screenings of the English dub premier of Kill La Kill. 

The night finished with a full concert featuring Eir Aoi, singer of the opening them song of Kill La Kill.  It was impressive how the audience was in tune by singing along with the Japanese artist. 

FreFlow sticks were distributed to everyone that attended.  These really enhanced the experience for the audience; during the concert the colors were controlled so all the FreFlow sticks were synchronized by color. 

On a final note, the last song that Aoi Eir performed was IGNITE.  It’s for the upcoming summer anime series Sword Art Online season 2, the audience exploded with excitement.   I believe this series may be the one I get to cover in the Anime Expo 2015!
