Live on Jan 9, 2011 (JST) at 4pm. The weekly live streaming show to talk about what's happening in Japan.
The first YNW in 2011 talked about Comic Market 79 (Comiket). The world's largest artist/otaku/manga/hobbist exhibit. We will welcome a Japanese otaku veteran, Atsushi Umeda, who has been to Comiket over 20 times, to talk about what to expect and prepare for Comiket.
Comic Market (Wikipedia) is the world largest self-published comic fair, held semi-annually at Tokyo Big Sight. But they don't simply sell comic books!
Let Wikipedia to take care of "official" explanation of Comic Market. YokosoNews will be welcoming a Japanese computer otaku to talk about his own view of Comic Market.
Atsushi Umeda has been going to Comiket since 1997 over 20 times. He knows all kinds of dos & donts of Comic Market.
If you want to experience the world largest comic fair, you must prepare for the world-class.
This will be no-holds-bar extensive, complete and comprehensive guide of Comic Market that has never been revealed to the English audience!
Let's hear how half a million total attendees spent about 20 billion yen (200 million US dollar) on December 29-31, 2010.
We'll be taking questions of Comiket via social timeline (Facebook, Twitter, AOL & MySpace) during the live show.
This live show will be archived and the recorded video will be posted on this page.
DISCLAIMER: Atsushi is still practicing his English. Katz will be helping translate as the show proceeds. The pacing of the show will be slower than usual.
