When any English news comes out as it were "new" news (or this), there are already Japanese independent scientists doing the same project month before.
It doesn't mean they need to work together. But they should. at least, communicate each other.
3. American sceientist already knew about the risk of Fukushima 30 years ago
The brief sumamry of NHK program which interviewed a various former GE engineers, scientists and former TEPCO executive who warned about the risk of Fukushima long time ago.
