Hiroko Nakamura is the Japanese journalist known for her own YouTube channel called HIROKOCHANNEL to introduce Japanese culture and language as well as IDG's monthly program Akibatteru.

Katz from YokosoNews will meet Hiroko-san and talk about the experience bringing the Japanese culture to the world via social media at around 1:30p on Sat, Apr 21, 2012 from gossip, Omotesando (Harajuku), Tokyo.

About Hiroko Nakamura

Hiroko Nakamura is a Japanese freelance journalist and researcher for foreign media. She has worked with the U.K.’s Channel 4 News, BBC, Channel5, The Independent, Canada’s The Globe and Mail, US's The New Yorker, IDG News Service, and CBS.

One report she worked on with ITN, which covered aftermath of March 11th Tsunami, has been nominated for an award at the Monte Carlo TV Festival, and another Tsunami documentary "Tsunami caught on camera" for BAFTA 2012.

Since March 11th, Hiroko has been actively visiting the affected areas and interviewing local people for reports. The reports can be viewed on “HirokoChannel” on YouTube.

She also works as a reporter for IDG’s monthly program Akibatteru, and introduces various Japanese pop culture events for the audience overseas.
